Lahore: The 33rd death anniversary of renowned play back singer Ahmed Rushdi is being observed today.
Ahmed Rushdi sang around five thousand film songs during his professional career, spanning from 1955 to 1980.
He recorded approximately 5000 songs for 583 released films.
Rushdi died of a heart attack at the age of 48 on April 11 1983.
His super-hit songs include Ko Ko Koreena, Akele Na Jaana Hamen Chor Ker, Socha Na Tha Pyar Karen Ge, Dill Ko Jalaana Hum Ne Chor Diya, Hipp Hipp Hurray and Yun Zindagi Ki Raah Mein.
He was considered as a key contributor to the golden age of Pakistani film music. Twenty years after his death he was awarded with Sitara-e-Imtiaz for his contributions to the field of music in 2003.
