Rajanpur: 10 police man killed now 15 in their custody of Choto gang as forces are busy in operation against them. Earlier that security forces have decided to use air strikes against the militants of Chotu Gang in the area of Rajanpur in Southern Punjab.
Police, Rangers, Elite Force commandos and Counter-Terrorism Department personnel are taking part in the operation, code-named Zarb-i-Ahan.
The forces also offered the gangsters to surrender before the air strikes.
The Kacha area in the Rojhan Tehsil is located on the Indus River, bordering Sindh and Balochistan provinces.
The region which is spread over 30 kilometers on the edge of the Punjab province was a “no-go area” for the police since many years.
On Tuesday, the Rajanpur police requested Punjab IG Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera to provide them two helicopters of military for the strikes. The forces also offered the gangsters to surrender before the air strikes.
Mushtaq Sukhera, the Punjab police chief, visited frontline check posts on Tuesday to review the operational strategy. He was accompanied by police officers from Bahawalpur and Dera Ghazi Khan, DPOs and senior officials of Rangers.
IG stated that The mortar attack by Rangers has given a visible support to police against the gangsters.
