Islamabad: Balloting of Hajj applications under a government scheme would be held on April 29.
Over 0.1 million people have so far submitted applications in scheduled banks since the new Hajj police was announced by the government last week.
According to sources in Ministry of Religious Affairs, the ministry was expecting 0.4 million Hajj applications of them, around 86,000 pilgrims would be picked under the government quota.
“The banks would receive Hajj applications till April 26 while balloting of these applications would be held on April 29”, the sources said.
According to the sources, the applicants have been directed to get computerized receipts from banks and those without computerised receipts would not be included in the balloting.
