Amjad Sabri’s family feels insecure, decides to move abroad


KARACHI: Family of Amjad Sabri has decided to leave Pakistan after the death of Amjad. The decision was taken over safety issues.

Brother of the late iconic qawwal said that all of his family would shift to London, as they were feeling insecure in their hometown. He said that Karachi is their hometown, despite living here for whole life, they felt insecurity after the death of Amjad.

The whole of the family would shift to London to protect their lives, he added.

Azmat Sabri appealed the government to bear their expenses to go overseas. He also declared that he would apply for the visa through former Chief Justice Pakistan Iftikhar Chaudhary.

Sabri’s mother also urged government to help them to go abroad, as the whole family got insecure in Pakistan, after the death of Amjad. She also said that her family could not bear any more loss, after the murder of her beloved son.

Azmat also demanded government to bring the killers to justice.

Talha Sabri, another brother of Amjad Sabri, demanded that the killer should be hanged on the same spot, where his brother was killed.

Amjad Sabri was assassinated by two armed motorbike riders on June 22, 2016, during the Holy month of Ramadan. He was going to a TV studio from his home when the armed bikers opened fire on his car. He received five bullets in his body and died on the spot.
