On Saturday afternoon, the 50 Year Old, Nikhil Joarder was attacked as he sat outside his shop in Tangail on.

Police said that he’d been in remission in 2012 for allegedly making derogatory comments regarding Islam, later he was freed.

IS claimed the attack though the authorities deny the cluster is active within the country.

Various IS militant groups have confessed a number of comparable recent killings in Bangladesh.

On Monday, Xulhaz Mannan, who was a leading gay rights activist & editor at the country’s sole LGBT magazine, was hacked to death together with another man in his Dhaka flat.

A Bangladeshi militant group related to al-Qaeda, Ansar al-Islam, said that it’d been behind those killings.

Last year, four distinguished profane bloggers were conjointly killed with machetes.

The four bloggers had all appeared on a listing of eighty four “atheist bloggers” drawn up by IS teams in 2013 and wide circulated.

The grim list of these who have fallen victim to attacks by the IS militants in Bangladesh is growing even diverse.

The Secular bloggers, gay rights activists, academics and the members of non secular minorities together with religious sect, Sufi & Ahmadi Muslims, Hindus & Christians have all been killed, several of them hacked to death.

That a university prof. whose family said that they can’t understand why he was murdered.

Who specifically is behind the attacks remains shadowy. Bangladesh has myriad extremist groups and there are few convictions over the attacks.

Bangladesh has controversial claims by so-called IS (Islamic State) or the al-Qaeda-linked groups for the attacks, instead often accusing opposition parties or the local islamist groups.

Nevertheless, till the killings stop the govt. itself can face accusations of not doing enough to safeguard minorities within the Sunni-dominated nation.
