MIANWALI: On Wednesday, at least 18 people were killed and fourteen others got injured when a speedy bus hit with a trailer in Punjab’s Mianwali district.
According to the police sources, the traveller bus was going to Islamabad from Karachi. On Mianwali’s M.M Road, it collided into a trailer after the driver lost control over the steering due to over-speeding.
According to sources, the police claimed that almost 18 passengers expired on the spot while fourteen others were injured.
Police and rescue workers initiated the rescue operation and moved the dead bodies and injured to a nearby hospital.
Pakistan has a terrible record of lethal traffic accidents due to pitiable roads, severely upheld automobiles and irresponsible driving. Smashes slaying loads of people are not rare.
According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), almost 9,000 road accidents are testified to the police every year since 2011, killing over 4,500 people on average.
